Former Development Director at the Huntsville Museum of Art, Suzanne Matthews took her first painting class at the Museum Academy in order to learn more about the organization. Immediately bitten by the painting bug, she then pursued oil painting; taking classes with Angela Kuprion, Roger Dale Brown and Kim English. She is inspired by God's creation, Bible verses, colors of a palette and other artists. Each of Suzanne's paintings has a Bible verse hidden in the paint and the full verse written on the back.
Born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee, Suzanne holds a B.S. in Family and Child Development from Auburn University. She is married to Ben and they have four grown children and one grandchild. She and Ben have lived in Madison for 34 years.
Suzanne currently is a Bible teacher and retreat speaker. She taught the Bible Study Fellowship Evening Women’s class in Huntsville for 14 years and currently leads a weekly Bible study class for young women, teaches classes for her church and several women’s retreats throughout the year. Suzanne and Ben are members of Saint Andrews Anglican Mission.
